Surface Pro vs MacBook Air

A few days back, i was having a little chat with my friends who have been using MacBook Air and SurfacePro laptops. To be frank i'm not familiar with both laptops. My friends clearly explained me about the pros & cons , specifications and their interactivity ; I was very much awed on hearing the new facilities that the laptops provided which i had not even heard . So i made my mind to do some fact analysis on both the laptops .After successful 12 hours analysis on it , the following is the specifications : 

If you dont want to read the specs rather want to know which is a winner then i recommend you  to skip to last paragraph :D    
  • Storage: SP4 has SSD storage from 128 GB all the way upto 1 TB while MBA has SSD storage of 128 and 256 GB. 
  • Graphics: MBA has Intel HD Graphics 6000 while SP4 has Intel HD graphics 515 (M3), Intel HD graphics 520 (i5), Intel Iris graphics (i7). Surface Pro 4 has better graphics when you compare the i7 model.
  • Processors: MBA has 5th gen Intel Core i5/i7 processors while SP4 has 6th gen Intel Core m3/i5/i7 processors. Obviously early next year Apple will release MacBook with 6th gen Intel processors.For now SP4 has a better processor.
  • RAM: SP4 has LPDDR3 RAM options from 4 to 16 GB while MBA has 4 GB LPDDR3 RAM configurable to 8 GB. 
  • Display: SP4 has an awesome display of 12.3 inch with resolution of 2763 x 1824 (267 PPI). They call it PixelSense display. MBA has 13.3 inch display with resolution of 1440 x 900 (128 PPI). I don't know why Apple doesn't bring the retina display to the MacBook Air. Surface Pro 4 clearly wins this one.
  • Weight: SP4 has weight for i5/i7: 1.73lbs (786g) & m3: 1.69lbs (766g). While MBA weighs 2.96 lbs (1.35 kg). Surface again wins the round.
  • Keyboard: SP4 has a Type Cover which acts as a keyboard and this doesn't come with the Surface. You've to purchase it with additional $130. It is very thin, light and also backlit. Its far better than any earlier Surface and has laptop like feel but MBA has a real laptop keyboard and the typing experience is better so MacBook wins this round.
  • Touchpad: SP4 has a High Precision glass trackpad on the Type Cover which is the best you will get on any Windows device. But MacBooks have always had amazing Trackpads. MacBook again wins this round.
  • Battery: Microsoft claims 9 hours of battery for SP4 but you'll get between 7-8 hours of battery life max. Apple claims 12 hours of battery life and it varies with the app you're running. Mac wins this one.
  • Camera: SP4 has an 8 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera, both Full HD (1080p). MBA has a 720p  FaceTime HD camera. Surface Pro 4 wins here.
  • Ports: SP4 has 1 USB 3.0 port, 1 MicroSD slot, 1 Mini Display port, 1 3.5 mm Headphone jack and a charging port. MBA has 2 USB 3 ports, 1 3.5 mm Headphone Jack, 1 SDXD card slot, 1 Mini DisplayPort via Thunderbolt port and 1 charging port. MacBook wins here with  more USB 3.0 port and a Thunderbolt port.
  • Cost: Both SP4 and MBA starts from $899 and price increases with specifications. Keep in mind you'll have to spend extra $130 for Type Cover with SP4.
  • Powering Screens: SP4 can power two 4K screens at a time while MBA can power only 4K screen. Surface wins here.
The above features simply gave us a view that SP4 has an upper hand while MBA is likely not meeting the users requirement. Clearly out of the 13 rounds mentioned above SP4 leads MBA by 1 with 7 wins. Remember 13 rounds is only related to Hardware and we haven't enter the Software section !!!!!!!

SP4 is 50 % faster than MacBook Air Though the link says that its faster yet what my friends and other users felt was that MBA is much faster the SP4 despite being a year old laptop version !

Finally, based on the discussions one can simply conclude that SP4 is the best Tablet and MBA is best laptop to use !!

Whatsapp is planning a new update that will allow users to recall or revoke sent texts as well as edit text that has been sent. Previously we posted an article about  Whatsapp video calling : game changer  that included the newly updated feature of video calling in whatsapp and now its the feature of revoking the texts that users have sent which can be considered as a remarkable feature that whatsapp has ever announced.
